Softball

Softball All Stars finish Second in State

Both the Major and Minor Softball All Star teams played their way into the championship game of the state softball.  Each lost a hard fought game but ended up second in the state.  Congratulations to everyone associated with the Softball Majors and with the Softball Minors All Star teams for a great run.

The Windermere Softball Majors All Star team followed up on their District and Sectional championships by winning their bracket in the state tournament.  They went on to win the state semi-final by a score of 5-4, but did not win the title game.  A tremendous season.

The Windermere Softball Minors All Star team was victorious in the Section 5 tournament.  They won their bracket in the state tournament and won the semi-final game by a score of 7-2.  They lost in the state championship game

Congratulations to the Softball Major’s All Star team, coached by Coach George Paulson,  which swept Dr. Phillips in a best of 3 series to win the District 14 Championship.  Windermere dominated the first game with big bats and excellent pitching winning 12-2 in four innings.  The second game was a close contest until the fifth inning when Windermere pulled away to clinch the Major’s Division District 14 Championship.

Minors

The Windermere WINkinz won the 2008 Minor League District 14 Top Team Tournament. GO WINkinz!

While The Big Red Machine and Winkinz were representing WLL in the Top Team
Tournament, the Hot Shots, Orange Crush and Strikers competed in the WLL end
of year tournament. The Hot Shots won the round robin tournament by going
2-0.

Majors

The Majors Division completed its most competitive, quality season in recent memory. The Wild Thingz (Rob Graham) and Stealth (George Ziegler) ended the season in a tie, and played an extra game to determine the American League representative for the Top Team Tournament. The Stealth defeated the Wild Thingz 2-1 in a very exciting game. The Go-Go's (George Paulson) and the Stealth represented Windermere Little League in the Top Team Tournament. Round Robin play ended with three teams at 2-1, and one team at 0-3. The Go-Go's took the District 14 Top Team Tournament on the first tie-breaker, runs allowed.WINkinz
